This is my 27th year of teaching at St. William Catholic School. I have taught language arts for grades 5-8, and have had 5th grade and 7th and 8th grade homerooms. I have been the 5th grade homeroom teacher for most of that time. This year I have sixteen students in my class. My favorite subject to teach is reading. I have loved reading my whole life and I think reading will always be an important part of every student's success.
Fifth grade is often a challenge because the students move from class to class, and they have different teachers for the core classes of science, math, and social studies. In homeroom they have reading, language arts, vocabulary, and religion. Changing classes requires organization, but also makes the day go by quickly.
I have lived in Janesville and Milton my whole life. I have four children and four grandchildren. I love nothing better than spending time with my three grandsons and one granddaughter ranging in ages from 15 to 2. I also have a dog, Macy, and a cat, Chloe. I spend my summers taking care of my garden and lawn: I truly enjoy being outside when the weather is nice.
As long as I remember, I have wanted to be teacher. I feel blessed to be able to teach at St. William.
