The Office of Faith Formation offers monthly Family of Faith sessions designed to help bring Christ into the home, which is called "The Domestic Church." Our sessions begin with breakfast and social time with other families. After breakfast the children go to their sessions while the parents stay in their large group for adult faith formation. The children are divided into groups as such: 3K-Kindergarten attend our Preschool class together, children in grades 1-5 are put into multi-age groups that rotate every 20 minutes to music, games, and scripture/saint stories. Middle School Students are either divided into grade specific groups or combined into one group, depending on how many students we have. During the adult session, the parents stay with Father or a guest speaker to learn about the topic of the month. They are also given instruction on how best to teach the material at home.
The Curriculum we use is "Family of Faith," by Sophia Institute Press. It operates on a 4-year cycle beginning with The Creed, The Sacraments, Life in Christ, and Prayer , which all make up the Four Pillars of the Catholic Church. "Family of Faith" is intended for children in grades 1-8 and includes multiple activities that are appropriate for children ages 6-13. Children can work on the materials together, with their parents' guidance, and will bring completed assignments to each class every month.
