Year One: The first year, the child is enrolled in the appropriate class for their school grade. Although this is usually 1st grade, a student can be a ‘year one’ student in any grade. This first year concentrates on learning about the faith at the appropriate grade level, beginning to understand and appreciate the Mass, the Commandments, and forgiveness. |
Year Two: The second year, the child enrolls in the appropriate grade. Although this is usually 2nd grade, a student can be a ‘year two’ student in any grade. In conjunction with attending appropriate grade level classes, the child is enrolled in the Sacramental Preparation which typically begins in the Fall of the 2nd grade year. Sacramental preparation includes 7 evenings of group instruction, once a month, 2 retreats, and the reception of the sacraments. Parents will attend Sacramental Prep with their children to receive instruction on the sacraments so they can teach and implements some of the concepts at home. |
